New life objective unlocked?
Christian Grobmeier, a maintainer of the Log4j project, was recently interviewed by GitHub about open source and the impact of vulnerabilities. I found this clip very funny. While I understand the gravity of the vulnerability, at the same time I would love to find myself having to explain to my kids that I broke one of their video games. One of the “pleasures” of being in IT, I’d assume 🤷 I’d encourage you to watch the full video to understand the importance of open source and how many of the things we take for granted are instead provided by people working on these libraries.
